Bon j'ai ce livre dans ma PAL depuis sa sortie mais je l'ai laissé trainer pour le mois d'aout et la challenge 100% JLA. Ce livre a donc été ma dernière lecture d'août et j'ai adoré.
La première chose à savoir c'est que ce livre est un spin off de la série The covenant de JLA. Qui se passe 1 ou 2 ans après la fin de la première série. On retrouve le personnage de Seth, personnellement c'est un personnage que j'ai su découvrir et apprécier au fil de la première série. Alors certes il a fait de grosses erreurs mais il a su les rattraper à mes yeux et quand j'ai appris un spin off était en cours j'étais joie.
Ici, on en apprend beaucoup plus sur lui, sur son passé et du coup sur le pourquoi de ses actions. Mais comme tous livres de JLA il y a de la romance et donc une héroïne prénommée Josie. J'ai de suite apprécié son personnage, elle a un côté fragile mais possède mine de rien son caractère bien à elle. La relation qu'elle va tisser avec Seth est franchement géniale. Ils se cherchent et du coup nous chers lecteurs on possède des moments à la fois drôles, touchants et frustrants car ce livre est classé new adult et la tension sexuelle qui va avec.
Autre chose que j'ai adorée c'est de me replonger dans l'univers et de revoir certaines têtes déjà connues. Notamment Deacon et Luke, la scène où on les revoit m'a juste énormément fait rire et c'est aussi ça que j'adore. Cette couche d'humour et de légèreté que JLA arrive à insuffler à ses livres tout en mêlant action et romance.
Je n'ai donc pas eu un coup de cœur mais j'ai franchement adoré, je lirai la suite au moment de sa sortie car encore une fois cet univers et les personnages me plaisent beaucoup.
